I promise I'll try to do better next quarter, where journal updates are concerned at least. The art drought is a trend which will likely continue through spring break and beyond however. Most of the stuff I submit is based on ideas in my book, but lately I've been spending more time actually writing it than sketching the same characters in slightly different attire and poses. That and Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters don't unlock themselves. Oh yeah, and finals are going on right now. I don't think they'll turn out as ugly as last quarter. Time will tell quick enough.
Anyway, to answer a question nobody has asked, the reason I have not posted any of my written work on dA is because I am paranoid, plain and simple. After the various stories I've read in deviant journals of art pieces, photographs and art in general being boosted, I feel it's better to play it safe and keep my potential livelihood fairly wrapped up. It probably sounds presumptuous to assume that people would even want to rip my stuff off in the first place. I'm okay with that.
None the less, I've reached the point in my not-yet-a-career where I have to start assembling a portfolio of work, and putting it out in a place where people can see it. My mother has suggested I start blog, and I think it's a good idea. Of course, I can't really afford an IP address, know nothing about website design, and I've barely been able to keep a steady schedule with this journal.
Anyway, if you have any ideas about where I could learn how to do this web design stuff quickly, cheaply and professionally, I'd love to hear some answers.
